Even when your heart is numbed from repeated bombardments of loss and grief and betrayal… Keep on asking.
Even when you are exhausted and threadbare, exasperated at being responsible enough… Keep on knocking.
And when there is no hand to hold you, no ear to hear your cloistered cry, No strength to Change anything… Keep on exploring.
Wait in hope when hope seems lost; your persistence in waiting and taking one timely step… Even when the wall looms High and thick
And despairing… Makes the difference.
Keep on asking. Keep on seeking. Keep on exploring.
A poem by Hal Edwards – August 2012.
