Stan Grenz – One of his last Interviews

Paul writes – If you haven’t already heard it, Dick Staub records an interesting discussion with one of my favorite theologians, the late Stan Grenz.

"He didn’t look the part of a radical theologian, but discussions about popular culture with his son combined with his bright, curious mind launched Stan Grenz on a journey culminating in his fresh rethinking of faith and culture. We became friends in Chicago where among other things he encouraged me to return to “Cascadia,” the stretch between Portland to the south and Vancouver to the North. He was convinced God was up to something in Cascadia and he was intrigued with some of the ideas I was considering. I suppose you could say “The Kindlings Muse” was one of them. Like so many others I was shocked when Stan died, so young, so on the cusp of continued contributions. Here is one of our last conversations taped in a studio in Seattle’s Fremont District after lunch with Stan and his wife at Ivar’s Salmon House on Lake Union! We billed it as “everything you ever wanted to know about theology and were afraid to ask!”
