Paul writes – I came across this great little statement from Walter Brueggemann via Rich Johnson (from “up the road”)
“…Taking time to be human is a deep contrast to the drivenness of the acquisitive life that is always on the make and that ends in fatigue that has no energy for humane living…”
I see, all of the time, the realities of lives unable to take the needful time to become more deeply human and paradoxically, more alive and free. I’ve seen it in my own life and I’m starting to make changes. I’m starting to formulate a “rhythm” for living and the practices that will underpin it. For an example of what got me thinking, see this post by my blogging friend Mark Berry.
Hey Paul - sorry I'm not commenting on the post - did you get my e-mail a week ago or so? I'm beginning to wonder if my e-mail system is messed up on the way to the bottom of the world. Peace in the new year.
