Paul writes – A couple of days ago, I posted a quote from Thomas Merton around “becoming myself”. One of the most useful and insightful tools I’ve come across is the enneagram. I was reminded of its significance again yesterday evening as I sat in on a fascinating conversation – a conversation that unfortunately was only getting going.
The word enneagram means a graph of nine. Each of the nine Enneagram personality profiles has a distinct, well-developed coping strategy for relating to self, others and the environment. Each of the nine types also has its own precise path to psychological and spiritual freedom.
While I have a number of books on the enneagram, I hadn’t heard of Helen Palmer until her name came up in the conversation, so here’s a clip of her introducing the enneagram. For more information on the enneagram, go here and here.
