Today, on Australian Broadcasting’s show The Spirit of Things (which “explores contemporary values and beliefs as expressed through ritual, art, music and sacred texts, and focusing on the nature of spiritual meaning in our lives.”) a conversation (approx. 50 mins) with Sr. Joan Chittister and Tom Roberts. I’ve so valued listening to and reading Chittister over the year. I’m looking forward to reading her biography when I can get a copy.
“Sr. Joan Chittister overcame personal adversity and entrenched patriarchy to become one of today’s most inspiring spiritual thinkers, one of the few nuns to ever give a TED talk. Tom Roberts has written her definitive biography. Her life story, Joan Chittister: from Certainty to Faith, is insightfully written by Tom Roberts, editor at large and former editor of The National Catholic Reporter.”
I love the title of the book. It reflects a significant truth in the Jesus-following journey... We move from certainty and the black and white, to faith.
You’ll find the podcast of the conversation, which aired on the 17th July 2016, here.
